Several students graduated this evening from the Springfield High School of Science and Technology Fresh Start program.

To be considered for the scholarship, applicants wrote a 1,000-word essay that showed how they found light after darkness through their journey in high school.

Their essays were chosen based on the journey that each student encountered — while finding hope and light through education.
